It's hard to believe we are already in the planning process for our fifth event. It's been six years since that first night (we took a year off due to getting married and buying a house in the fall of 2016). Every year at this time, I am humbled by all the companies and individuals who are willing to donate to our event.
The first WRB. All Jacob wanted to do to celebrate his 30th birthday was to raise money for two animal rescues, Unleashed Pet Rescue and Great Plains SPCA. The idea sprung out with support from Crystal at Beer Paws. Together the three of us found a location that would allow us to take over (Green Room) and we went forward to asking for donations. This was the start of the custom Clear10 Vodka bottles with rescue dogs photos and the "I PAW KC." We had 11 raffle baskets and packed that building out.

The second WRB was held at Gordon Bierch, still supporting Unleashed Pet Rescue and Great Plains SPCA. This is where we established the addition to our event creating team, Vanessa and Micah. We have since followed them to their new location. This was the introduction of "I PAW KC" silent auction of Clear 10 and shirt sells at the event. We were able to have 15 raffle baskets at this event plus a bonus drawing for Beer Paws. (For Jacob being a photographer, we have limited photos of our events as we run them all with a limited amount of people.)
We moved to Stockyards Brewing Company. What a game changer! These people love pets, beer, and supporting the community. We changed to benefiting Unleashed Pet Rescue and KC Pet Project. We also added a kissing booth. Those rescue pups had the night of their lives.

WE RAISED $6000 THIS YEAR! We were blown away by everyone who donated, attended and supported. We also had donations of needed items to give to the shelters, ie paper towels, food, and toys. The kissing booth returned and we added V.I.P. bags and musicians who donated their time. Plus, Scribe donated an original piece of art (a check off my unicorn donor list). It was a night for the books.

I have big plans for this year and new "unicorns" I want to reach for donations and sponsorship. Get ready!
